A few weekends ago Si and I took the journey down to Cornwall for a long weekend on the gloomy but picturesque coast…
It was our full intention to go off season, as I couldn’t imagine anything more beautiful than the grey skies, quiet roads and having the empty beaches to ourselves! We stayed at the extremely gorgeous Scarlet Hotel in Mawgan Porth. Perched up on the raggedy cliff, overlooking the sea and creating the feeling that you literally have it all to yourself!
We checked in early, and with all rooms boasting a sea view, cosied up for the afternoon before braving the rain for beach walks and clifftop hot tub dips (more on that another day)
I didn’t really manage to capture that many photos (mostly on my iPhone, before it drowned in the rain) but the views, food and the general feeling of being shut away from the real world for a few days, was the best thing we could of asked for. I just need to get saving for our next visit.
