Last month I spent a whirlwind day in Paris with two of my close friends, who all thought that Paris really was a good way to start the year…

It was an early start but after a hot drink and a thorough catch up on the Eurostar, we found ourselves walking the calm, quiet streets of Le Marais on a sunny Saturday morning. We didn’t have any set plans, but as it was a beautiful warm winters day, we wandered what seemed, all across Paris, from Le Marais, down to the Luxemburg gardens, stopping for Macaroons at Laudree, wine at Cafe De Paris and a whirl on the big Wheel in Jardin Des Tuileries. After exhausting ourselves from all our walking and talking of course, we were ready to hop in the Eurostar and back to London, but Paris had other ideas. We soon found out that due to a fire, all trains where cancelled so we were essentially stranded in Paris for the night! My friend managed to call in a favour through her journalist contacts and we bagged an amazing room for night, at Citadines Suites, Louvre (which I would definitely recommend)

We all were secretly happy for the change in plans and promptly booked a table at Ferdi, for what turned out to be amazing burgers and unbelievably cheap wine for the area we were in.
Paris again, you stole me heart, and I can’t wait for my next visit!
